Roger and Susan Shanks have been serving with Global Partners as GO-Net volunteer missionaries in the Czech Republic from January 2002-February 2004. During this time Roger served as the work team coordinator and did maintenance and construction work. Susan was the work team hostess and also served as an office worker, English teacher, and discipler. In March 2004 they were appointed to serve as career missionaries in the Czech Republic.
Roger had always felt a need to be serving others, and Susan had always had a heart for missions. In 1985 they had the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip to Puerto Rico. This experience left a burning desire in Roger’s heart to do construction-related work as a career missionary. Susan told God she was willing to go wherever and whenever He led. Fifteen years later their skills were needed in the Czech Republic, and they knew that God wanted them to serve Him there.
Roger and Susan have three married daughters.
